The General Secretary of the Bhutan Shooting Federation (BSF), accompanied by officials from the Bhutan Cricket Council Board, is currently visiting the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) in New Delhi for a few days. The purpose of the visit is to establish bilateral cooperation aimed at promoting shooting sports in both India and Bhutan.
During his visit, the General Secretary met with several key officials of the NRAI, including:
- Mr. Rajiv Bhatia, Secretary General, NRAI
- Mr. Pawan, Joint Secretary General and Expert in Range Development, NRAI
- Mr. Sreejit, Director of Range Management at the Dr. Karni Singh Range
- Mr. Ari, Distributor/Dealer and Backup Service Provider for SUIS Equipment
The meeting yielded several significant outcomes:
- The NRAI has agreed to provide training for BSF coaches and athletes.
- The NRAI agreed to offer advice and support to develop the Rama Shooting Range to meet international and regional standards.
- Training and support will be provided for the staff managing the Rama Shooting Range on Range Management.
- Support will be given for the installation of SEIUS targets at the Rama Shooting Range.
- Discussions focused on further strengthening the relationship between the BSF and NRAI.
- The delegates from the NRAI will visit the Rama Shooting Range after the Paris Olympic Games.
- The NRAI and BSF mutually agreed to rectify the old MOU and sign a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between BSF and NRAI.
- The NRAI agreed to provide technical support for the construction of Skeet, Trap, 25m and 50meter ranges.
- The BSF and NRAI mutually agreed to organize Indo-Bhutan shooting competitions for junior athletes.
- The NRAI agreed to allow BSF athletes to participate in state-level competitions in India.
The above-cited outcomes of the meeting will be officially implemented only after the signing of the MoU between BSF and NRAI. The MoU will be signed, and additional matters will be discussed during the Indian delegates’ visit to Bhutan after the Paris Olympic Games.
